Scripts

I found the scripts of three film that I liked and wanted to incorparate into writing my own screenplay. All of these films portray royality.

               The King's Speech (2010) Screenplay

The Young Victoria (2009) Screenplay

The King's Speech

Beautiful. That is the best word to describe it. The King's Speech is based on the true story of one man who saved the British monarchy. It is heartwarming to see such a close relationship between a ordinary man from Perth, Australia and the Duke of York (George VI).

Last year, my mum went to see this film with a few of her friends. The next morning I asked how was. She told me that it was "my type of film", that I would love it. Lucky for me this christmas I was given it in a boxset. I sat down one afternoon (with my chocolate) and watched it. I was completely enchanted by the screenplay (script).

Colin Firth plays George "Bertie" Windsor while Geoffrey Rush plays the man who helps him overcome his stamia, Lionel Logue. His loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth, is played by none other than Helena Bonham Carter who is no stranger to playing royality. In 1986, she played Lady Jane Grey (the nine day queen) in Lady Jane which ended with her losing her head along with Cary Elwes. Lucky for her she keeps her head in this film. Bertie and Elizabeth's two daughters, Elizabeth and Margeret, are played brilantly by two young actresses who I have no doubt have a bright future a head of them. Freya Wilson (Jane Eyre (2011)) plays little Princess Elizabeth and Ramona Marquez (Outnumbered (2007+) plays little Princess Margaret. This is the girls' first major role in a film and they did it with such talent and elegancy.

This film is so deserving of the awards that it recieved; 3 academy awards, 12 oscars, 7 awards at the British Academy Film Awards, 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award at the Producers Guild of America Awards, the People's Choice Award at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, Best British Independent Film at the 2010 British Independent Film Awards, and the 2011 Goya Award for Best European Film from the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España (Spanish Academy of Cinematic Art and Science).

The King's Speech shows the real story of King George VI and his battle to overcome his stamia that he has since he was a boy. This heartwarming tale shows with determination and support from friends & family you can accomplish anything.

The opening scene sees Bertie giving a speech at closing cermony at the 1925 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley Stadium. He stammers through the speech and thousands of people stare at him, disappointed. I felt so sorry for him. It must have soo embrassing. I can personally relate to his story a bit. When I was young, around 3, I was slow speaking and my words came out slurred and stammered. But with a lot of help from a speech therapist and the love and support of my parents & family I overcame it.

Cast

Melusina - Natalie Dormer
Raimond - ?
Aimeric - Michael Sheen or Alan Rickman
Marguerite - Maggie Smith
Nicole - Scarlett Johanson
Gustave - Eric Idle
Melilot - Nina Dobrev
Palatine - Tamzin Merchant

The Characters of Meliliot and Palatine

Melilot and Palatine are Melusina's sisters and are therefore fays too. In the story the are cursed but stay on the lost island while Melusina goes alone. However, I have changed that so they have a bigger role to play in the screenplay than in the actual legend.

Melilot, the middle child, is brunette with brown eyes. She is gentle and loves animals. Like her sister, she too is cursed; No man will ever love her. She is very attractive just like her sister.

Palatine, the youngest girl, is blond with blue eyes. Like her two older sisters she is cursed; that any man whom she truly loves will all her heart will be cursed to die. She too is beautiful, considerate to others and loves children.

For Melilot, Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries (2009+) and The American Mall (2008)) would play her pefectly and for Palatine, Tamzin Mercant (The Tudors (2010), Pride and Predejuce (2005) and Jane Eyre (2011). Both  of these actress aren't big in the film world, but would be good at these roles.

The Character of Gustave

Gutave is Raimond's wise and old squire. He has always been a friend of the family since he was boy so he understands how the court works. Being a squire means he is just a lowly "commoner". He is comical and is a poet. He becomes friends with Melusina.
Eric Idle (Ella Enchanted (2006)) would be perfect for this role.

The Character of Nicole

Nicole is Raimond's sister who he loves and dotes upon. She is a middle sized blond girl. Unlike Melusina she is not completely smart but she is kind and dutiful. All she wants is somebody to love her for her. She is appects her new sister giving her a kiss when she first meets her.

I would like it if Scarlett Johansson (The Other Boleyn Girl (2008) and The Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003))

The Character of The Dowager Countess Margaretiou

The dowager countess has a lot of wisdom from her experiences as a countess on Poiters. She is typical mother-in-law who frightens Melusina when she first meets her but soon opens up to her. She is kind and just wants the best for children; wanting them to do whatever makes them happy. Her actions and dialogue are both comical and amusing.
There was never a doubt in my mind of who should play her but the great Maggie Smith (Richard III (1995 and Harry Potter (2001 - 2011)).

The Character of Aimeric

Aimeric is a greedy and powerful man, who wants Melusina out of the way so Raimond can marry a rich girl with more power and land then she will ever have. She is very cruel/nasty to the servants' shouting at them. He rules his nephew, it seems he cares for him, and in his advise it shows his wisdom.
I want either Alan Rickman (Harry Potter (2001 - 2011)) or Michael Sheen (Eclipse (2010)) to play Aimeric as they have both played evil men.

The Character of Raimond

Raimond is less complex than Melusina. He is the Counto Poiters by the death of his father, Henrio. His uncle, Aimeric, is his adviser; telling him how to run his domains. He is both dashing witha large amount of masuclinity and clever in his political duties. But he is soo much in love with Melusina and it shows.

I am not sure who shall play him. I have nobody in mind.

The Character of Melusina

I have carefully thought about my character of Melusina, how I want to potray her and characteristics she will have. Using the seven historical woman that I admire I have finally created her.
She will have be equal to any man in the court, physically and mentally, with "the light of Joan of Ark and the darkness of Lady MacBeth". She is skillful in using her magic. I liked the idea that "the dark or black magic", as it would have been thought of at that peorid in history, should have a knock on effect on her.

Political active in her husband's council, giving her advice on what should be done. She will be his closer adviser. His companion both sexually and in friendship. A ruler of men's heart. She is very beautiful with curly hazel hair and blue eyes; very desirable.

Her witts are around her at all times; knowing who are her friends and who are her enemies. Her wittyness makes her popular with many of the coutiers at the court of her husband. She is a doting wife and a loving mother to her children, that she loves more than her life. Her courage and bravery is her strength; she has "a heart of worth a lot more than any gold of Rome."

She is loving, kind, dependable and sincere; she chooses normal, poor woman (along with her sisters) to be her ladies in waiting. She cares for others less fortunate than herself; helping a young boy who was caught stealing to feed his poor family and sentenced to death by persuading the lords of juries to let him go, showing off her political and persuation skills.

She is very intelligent but are weaknesses are proudness, quick-temper, stubborness, ambitous and haughty. These characteristics help her to make very powerfull enemies.

Her story is a tragic one; full of mystery, witchcraft, loyality, heartbreak and surival.

I have decided on two actress who could play Melusina very well; Eva Green (The Dreamers (2003), Cracks (2009)). But I have choosen Natalie Dormer (The Tudors (2007 -2008). Natalie is not greatly well known in the film industry but I think she could play the part at extremley well, bring the character of Melusina alive.
